Deny, dupe and delay – the underhand tactics of ExxonMobil - Greenpeace.org Report
So little time and there's something else I need to get finished, I'll keep it short. If you're looking at this you must be on the same page anyways. Below the fold you'll find information about Exxon's grand deception, and assorted dirty tricks including the "Oregon Petition" aimed at defeating the Kyoto Accord, what was supposed to be society's first baby steps in getting a handle on humanity's Greenhouse Gas crisis. Well that is until the greed blinded oligarchs stepped in with their various dirty tricks and PR campaigns, take a look.

From the Valdez oil spill to the international negotiations on climate change, ExxonMobil has been practising the tactics of deny, dupe and delay.
15 years after the spill that devastated a pristine wilderness area and damaged the lives of many of its inhabitants, ExxonMobil is still dragging the plaintiffs through the courts in an effort to avoid paying out the punitive damages award, first passed by a Federal jury in September 1994.
Punitive damages of $5 billion were awarded to 34,000 fishermen and other Alaskans harmed by the oil spill. It was then the largest punitive damage award in history, equal to one year's worth of ExxonMobil profits at the time.
ExxonMobil’s first appeal to the Supreme Court in 1997 was thrown out, but in 2001, a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that the $5 billion judgement was excessive and sent the case back to the U.S. District Court in Anchorage. The judge here was ordered to reduce the amount, which he did, to $4billion.

I'm Sarah Rasmussen of Greenpeace, and I started a petition to the United States Senate, which says:
As if a cabinet of white nationalists, climate deniers, and Wall Street billionaires wasn't enough, Trump nominated Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson to serve as the next secretary of state.
Yes, that Exxon.
The same Exxon that knew about climate change as early as the 1970s and spent the next four decades spreading climate denial.1 The same Exxon that has spent millions to block climate action so it can drill for oil all over the world. The same Exxon that has routinely put its profits above people and the environment.
As the CEO of Exxon, Tillerson has consistently put his business interests above the well-being of the American people—as his cozy relationship with Vladimir Putin, who awarded him one of Russia's highest honor, reflects. He has gone so far as to publicly criticize sanctions on Russia, undermining U.S. international leadership to protect his own business dealings with Putin.2
If he becomes secretary of state, Tillerson would have immense power to spread the fossil fuel industry's polluting agenda as official U.S. foreign policy. But it's not set in stone yet.

Trump's Cabinet, Pay to Play, Campaign Contributions
Well those were two extreme depressing months. I had to fold a week before Jan 3rd. Watching the DNC squander that precious irretrievable window of opportunity to make a stand. The citizen engagement, though it's happening, was too little too late to make any real impact. The hopelessness got overwhelming and I needed to withdraw. But life goes on, we reconcile with our tragedies and losses, pick up and move on. So here I am. WhatsUpWithThatWatts.blogspot has returned to focusing on confronting climate science contrarians, though that never takes us too far from Republican politicians and their overlords and puppets. In fact, I'm involved in an interesting debate, "#A - Considering the Republican Disconnect From Planet Earth. (Where EM's debate started.)" with the first contrarian to seriously try explaining himself to me. Interesting stuff.
As for this blog, I had been wanting to move towards more personal writing but the election pretty much blew that out of the water so I will continue tilting at windmills and trying to share important information and a few arguments here and there.
I think for starters we should take a look at who Trump's appointing to his Cabinet, it appears many are big-time Republican donors. Go figure.
