A 16-Year Old Climate Activist Speaks Her Mind

Reading this essay I couldn't help but think back to my high school years and that first Earth Day shorty before my 15th birthday.  Even then the message was clear, we were living a self-consumptive life style and Earth's bounties were not limitless.  

An understanding of Anthropogenic Global Warming was becoming clearer even though many details were yet to be worked out, the basic outline was there.  And the objective need to do something substantive to moderate behavior and allow for human intelligence to override base self-interest and primal instinct was clear.

But, then

I don't have much time to devote to projects like this.  It's hit and miss ~ but in between I do think about what I've written and what Curry has written ~ 

I've finished my first careful comb through 11/5/12 afternoon.  I'll admit I found too much sloppiness, some of it embarrassing, but what can I say, gotta start somewhere and then refine.  In any event, this is my critique and challenge to

I want to share a great series by Professor Iain Steward a man who has previously produced quite a number of excellent documentaries focused on our planet.  The man has a wonderful talent for presenting the state of the science to a lay audience.  In this series he reviews how climatology became the politicized hot potato that it is.

I had sort of an interesting read over at the Yale Forum on Climate Change and The Media and have been confronted with "real science" in the name of Nasif S. Nahle who has written learned papers claiming that atmospheric CO2 is actually a cooling agent in our atmosphere.  

So I thought what the heck might as well share it here, I imagine some might get a kick out of this guy's take on science.  

But of course, as one might imagine I've found issues with presenting this Nasif Nahle as a new Galileo in these trying times.  Allow me to share.

Dan Satterfield has posted an eye popping video over at his blog "Dan's Wild Wild Science Journal" at the very interesting website hosted by the American Geophysical Union.


This video was put together by Peter Sinclair and collected a great deal of important information into it's six and half minutes.  I know that like anyone speaking out on the matter of what we are doing to our planet, Peter get's attack and relentlessly denigrated by the so-called "skeptical" community.  However the facts speak for themselves.

An Essay Concerning Our Global Heat {Distribution} Engine

I read Gail’s {Gail Binkly, editor of the Four Corners Free Press} excellent articles on climate change with much interest; particularly “Locals’ views differ on warming theory,” where the opinions were truly saddening.

Quotes such as: “It’s climate change, but I’m not sure it’s man-made” - “It may not be something we’re causing” - “may be part of a cycle that may have come along regardless” - reveal a sad lack of basic understanding regarding our planet’s physical situation. We as a society must become clear that the physical dynamics at work in this global warming thing are indeed well understood by those who study climate.

 Please consider our planet for a moment,

Millennial Cooling in Context, Esper et al. (2012), an appraisal

Once again I'm in a period when I can't make the time for this hobby of mine.  However, there is a new article out at Skeptical Science that examines the extreme claims of the latest contrarian-skeptics favorite.  Considering how it's getting wallpapered all over the Echo-chamber, I feel it is only proper that Dana's review deserves being duplicated.
